Thanks to all that took part and to Richard G8CDD in hosting us once again. It was a very pleasant weekend with a gentle breeze and not too hot weather, and it didn’t rain!

Disappointingly though, we were short of help from members with the dismantling on Sunday afternoon that resulted in the packing up needing to be finished on Monday morning.

Our next major contest for your calendar is the HF SSB field day and 2m Trophy contests that run concurrently over the 3rd and 4th September. Volunteers for setting up, operating and taking down will be sought nearer the time, but please consider what you could do to help the club in some way with this weekend. Even if you cannot get to site, an on-air contact with the club station would be appreciated and help to raise our score if only by a few points.

Three weeks ago members of West Kent ARS participated in the RSGB 50MHz Trophy contest, and I have now just received the results of our entry. Having decided to enter the 6hr Open section, West Kent ARS is in 4th place out of 14 clubs in that category. Thanks to all that helped with this contest, on this occasion we had a very good supporting team for the setting up and taking down, for which thanks to all that contributed in some way. Here’s a copy of our Certificate.

The log from that 50MHz contest was also submitted by Les G6UBM into the WAB 6m contest that was running at the same time and, as a result of this, the Club has entry been placed in 1st place of the Club & Multi-Operator category.
