The West Kent ARS Award is available to members of the Society, who submits proof of working or hearing members or callsigns of West Kent ARS on any band from 1.8MHz to 430MHz.
Only direct Morse and phone contacts logged from the 1st of January 2000 are eligible for this award. Contacts via repeaters or other indirect means are not considered as counting toward this award.
Award categories
There are three levels of award category available; Bronze, Silver and Gold, each with a different level of points required for claiming an award certificate.
In addition to the above award categories, the certificate can be endorsed for the bands used in the contacts; HF, VHF or UHF and the modes used; Mixed, AM, CW, FM of SSB.
Contact scores
The points required for claiming the separate award levels are;
Bronze 15 points
Silver 20 points
Gold 25 points
Points for each station callsign worked or heard is awarded according to the following scale:
QSO with club station Gx1WKS, Gx3WKS, (maximum one call per claim): 5 points
QSO with club special event call (see below for eligible callsigns, maximum one per claim): 3 points
QSO with past or present member of West Kent ARS: 1 point

Award claim procedure
To claim an award certificate, send an extract from your log showing, for each contact for which you are claiming points, the date, time, callsign worked, band and mode. Include a declaration signed by yourself confirming that it is a true extract from your log.
No fee is charged for these award certificates, whether a member of the West Kent ARS or not.
