For our yearly special event stations at Nutley Windmill, we have formerly used our tent and heavy aluminium mast/base, with a dipole antenna strung between the trees (see the picture below from 2024).

This equipment is quite difficult to assemble rapidly, and getting quite old now. There are more modern options!

To improve how quickly we can deploy our equipment for this and other events, we have decided to change the tent to a gazebo, and the mast for a modern push-up steel mast, a Hiperpod stainless steel mast from Total Mast Solutions.

Richard G8CDD investigated Gazebo options, and ordered one from Gala Tents (pictures to follow).

Mike M0RYK organised the purchase of the mast, and demonstrated how easy it is to set up at our recent August 2026 meeting, at Bidborough Village Hall.

We hope to be making use of this and the new Gazebo for the forthcoming HF SSB Field Day on 5th/6th September.
